As the build up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup continues, striker Alex Iwobi has revealed how coach Gernot Rohr has remained the players not be carried away by their qualification, but rather remain focus on preparations.

The Super Eagles will open their world cup account against Croatia on June 16 in the group D pairings also featuring Iceland and Argentina. According to Iwobi, the team players are relaxed and not under pressure, however, they have ambitions to do well.
“Of course, we’ve mentioned it and talked about it so many times in training, on the coach, in the hotel room,” says Iwobi during a CNN interview.
“But we will take it step by step. Our coach always reminds us that we’re not there yet. We need to prepare right. We’ve done well to get this far, so just be relaxed, be cool and wait for when the times comes.
“It’s always been a dream to play in the biggest competition and there’s no bigger competition than the World Cup to me.”
Russia 2018 will be Iwobi’s first world cup experience in his young career. He said he is impressed with the performance of the Eagles so far.
“The way we qualified in the group made us very confident.
“We’ve played against some big teams, some big countries, so we are very confident that we can go far.”
