Argentina FA to get N1.1bn if Messi plays against Israel

The Argentina Football Association will pocket US$3million (equivalent of N1.1 billion) for agreeing to face Israel in their final pre-World Cup friendly, but only on one condition.

According to Sport Express Russia, the conditions of the friendly match of the Argentina national team in Israel, which will be held on June 9, have been determined.
The Argentina Football Association will receive US$3 million on the proviso that Barcelona number 10, Lionel Messi will spend at least 60 minutes on the pitch.
Therefore, AFA will be paid US$50,000 (around N18 million) for every minute their captain is on the pitch when they visit Israel.
Manager Jorge Sampaoli announced his roster for the friendly games against Italy and Spain yesterday, six days before the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr releases his roster for the Pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia.
Messi was excused from Argentina’s 4-2 loss to Nigeria in a friendly last November.
