Dr Segun Awosanya, an Institutional Reform Advocate and concerned citizen, has described recent publications circulated on the political displacement of some personalities concerning the Lagos State House of Assembly as “fabrication.”
Awosanya, in a recent statement, maintained that the publication, evidently commissioned by interested parties, presented an outlandish narrative suggesting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu harbors intentions to diminish President Bola Tinubu’s influence and legacy in Lagos.
The statement read in part, “Recent publications have been circulated concerning pieces of political fiction regarding the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“These writings, evidently commissioned by interested parties, present an outlandish narrative suggesting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu harbors intentions to diminish President Tinubu’s influence and legacy in Lagos.
“While such manufactured controversies typically warrant no response, the potential for these falsehoods to gain traction necessitates a clear rebuttal.
“Lagos State’s governance framework (President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 20-Year Blueprint), meticulously developed over decades, encompasses comprehensive succession planning and institutional continuity.
“The suggestion that any individual, regardless of position, could dismantle the architectural framework established by the acknowledged ‘Father of Lagos Politics’ demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of Lagos’s political ecosystem.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu, renowned for his technocratic approach and administrative precision, has consistently demonstrated unwavering loyalty to established institutional structures and legitimate authority.
“The Governor’s track record speaks volumes: a steadfast commitment to execution, verifiable achievements, and an administrative style characterized by transparency and collaboration.
“His leadership philosophy actively eschews political machinations, instead prioritizing developmental objectives and governance effectiveness.
“These baseless accusations appear to be the latest iteration in a series of failed attempts to create artificial political crises.
“The orchestrators, having failed to achieve their objectives through conventional means, have resorted to character assassination and narrative manipulation.
“Their strategy reveals desperation rather than legitimate political discourse.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s adherence to constitutional principles, particularly regarding the separation of powers, mirrors the democratic values championed by both his predecessor and the President.
“His administration has maintained this delicate balance while pursuing an aggressive development agenda for Lagos State.
“In this era of political volatility, while opportunists seek to manufacture controversies for personal gain, the Governor’s focus remains unwavering: delivering tangible results for Lagos residents across political divides.
“His governance model emphasizes inclusive development over partisan politics.
“The political leadership in Lagos, comprising individuals who have benefited from and contributed to the state’s progressive trajectory, remains united in their commitment to building upon established foundations.
“This unity transcends temporary political machinations and focuses on sustainable development.
“We must maintain vigilance against such deliberate misinformation campaigns. In an age where digital platforms can amplify falsehoods and distort reality, defending truth and institutional integrity becomes crucial.
“The legacy of Lagos’s democratic evolution deserves protection through factual discourse and honest debate.
“May Lagos continue to thrive under leadership prioritizing progress over politics, unity over division, and truth over manipulation.
“The enduring legacy of our democratic architects will be preserved and enhanced by those who truly understand and respect the foundations upon which modern Lagos was built.”
