Stunningly beautiful Yoruba actress, Peju Johnson, who recently relocated to Nigeria from Egypt to take her acting to the next level, has expressed her disgust with what she hates about the Yoruba sector of the film industry.

According to the Ile Ife, Osun State born delicate beauty, who has featured in over 13 films since her return to the country in 2016, Yoruba actors, both male and female engage a lot in trivial gossips that soon degenerate into unfounded rumours.
“I love the industry. Since I came back things have not been really bad and I have had support of so many of my colleagues, especially, of Kehinde Adeyemi, who took me in and nurtured me in the industry. The down side I have noticed however is the unfriendly attitude of some, spreading false rumours. When there is some form of closeness between you and the opposite sex, to them, it means you are automatically dating the person. They assume so much and start gossiping which leads to rumours. In some cases, they start off by jokingly calling you the girlfriend of this and that, and before you know it, the news is everywhere. Like seriously, that can be very annoying. They make it look like it’s a sin or big deal to make friends with the opposite sex,” she said.
Chatting further on variety of issues, Peju explained it has not been easy living as a beautiful woman among men in the industry. Though, she refused to talk about sexual advances in the industry she admitted it has been rather trying to ward off advances from the opposite sex.
“It has not been easy fighting them off. But I simply let them know I am not searching. For those who believe all it takes to win a woman’s heart is money, I let them know I am not the type. I hardly give people audience. It is very hard to get my contacts or to even see me. Only a man that attracts me naturally can win my heart”.
Apart from featuring in some films, like ‘Omo Cairo’ and ‘Baba Esu in Egypt, she has featured in Law of Karma, Gbajumo, Banuso, Wonuola, Nkan Elegbe, Wrong Number, Widow, Okomi Otami, to mention a few in Lagos.
