A South-African born businessman, Elon Musk has revealed his intention to colonise Mars and get first 1 million people to live on the red planet using his SpaceX company.Musk made this revelation during at South by Southwest music festival in Texas on Sunday, March 11. Musk said the future plan is to put 1 million people on Mars as a plan B for the people living on earth in case nuclear war which will wipe out the human race.”We want to make sure there’s enough of a seed of civilisation somewhere else to bring civilization back and perhaps shorten the length of the dark ages. I think that’s why it’s important to get a self-sustaining base, ideally on Mars, because it’s more likely to survive than a moon base,” he said.”I think it’s unlikely that we will never have another world war.” His company, SpaceX, is expected to begin short trips back and forth to Mars by the first half of 2019. With this, Musk will start colonising Mars and suggest he would like his title to be “emperor.” A comment he added it was only a joke.Laws on the new planet would be short, as Musk said: “If the law exceeds the word count of ‘Lord of the Rings,’ then something’s wrong.”The plan to colonise Mars, according to Musk, is to “regenerate life back here on Earth.
