The results on the pitch may not be great for KRC Genk this season, but in the bank they are the richest in the whole of Belgium after the transfer of some of their top stars including Wilfred Ndidi.
Ndidi celebrates his goal against DerbyGenk now have a savings of 43.9 million Euros, while Anderlecht can only boast of 14.3 million Euros and Club Brugge have 3.2 million Euros.
Genk raked in 73 million Euros for the transfer of Ndidi, Leon Bailey, Neeskens Kebano and Christian Kabasele.
Genk always sell their best players for a serious added value, officials said.
“We will remain faithful to our philosophy and strategy, which means training young people and attracting young talents, and occasionally you can go a little further – as with Ingvartsen’s purchase – than in a period when the numbers are less positive”, explained Peter Croonen to Het Nieuwsblad.
