Super Eagles defender Ola Aina’s Championship club Hull City are reportedly interested in England-born Nigerian winger Hakeeb Adelakun who currently plays for third-tier League One side Scunthorpe.
According to Hull Daily, Hull, along with Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Barnsley, are looking at the 21-year-old winger in a £1m swoop in the January transfer window.
And Scunthorpe boss Graham Alexander said he will not stand in Adelakun’s way should he decide he wants to depart Glanford Park.
“The situation with Haks is that I know as much as you guys, I read it yesterday in some of the media,” Alexander said.
“I’ve not heard anything official or from our club so it’s speculation. At this time of the year the agents get to work and put stories out there.
“I’m not saying it’s unfounded – there may be interest but it’s not come our way. I’d expect interest in our good players and especially our young players, Hakeem comes into both of those categories.
“We’ve been talking to Hakeeb about a new deal.
