The scammers are operating on the internet to defraud unsuspecting victims in the Senate President’s name. Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has raised alarm over scammers that are impersonating him on the internet with the aim of defrauding people.According to the Senate President, the scammers operate fake emails with Russian IP addresses hoping to defraud the recipients.In a signed statement released on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, Saraki said the activities of the scammers have been reported to security agencies.He said, “One hour ago, it was brought to my attention that there are certain online scammers operating fake emails with Russian I.P addresses that are impersonating me.”I wish to categorically state that these emails are not from me or my office; they do not represent me or my office; I do not know them; and these scammers have apparently been operating with the sole intention of defrauding the recipients of these emails.
