Super Eagles: Nigeria’s national team, Coach Rohr grab CAF nominations

The winner of the awards will be announced at the Awards Gala which will hold on January 4 in Accra. The Super Eagles of Nigeria and Coach Gernot Rohr have been nominated for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) National Team of the Year and Coach of the Year awards. The nominations were announced by CAF on Monday, November 27. For the National Team of the Year, the Super Eagles have been nominated alongside Cameroon, Egypt, Mali U-17 and Zambia U-20. The winner of the awards will be announced at the Awards Gala which will hold on Thursday, January 4 in Accra, Ghana.Super Eagles in 2017In the year under review, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were impressive in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, finishing top of a tough Group B that has Zambia, Cameroon and Algeria. In competitive games, the Super Eagles beat Cameroon and Zambia and also grabbed draws away at Cameroon and Algeria to become to the first African country to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
