Nigeria Professional Football League: 2017/2018 NPFL season to kick off January 14

LMC, who are the organisers of the NPFL have unveiled the calendar for the new season. The League Management Company (LMC)- have announced that the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season will kick off on Sunday, January 14, 2018. It’s been off season in the NPFL following the conclusion of the 2016/2017 season which Plateau United won. LMC, who are the organisers of the NPFL have unveiled the calendar for the new season. The Super Six tournament which serves as an annual opener to the NPFL will hold from Monday, December 11 to Thursday, December 17. In the season’s calendar, there will be three midweek matches on match days 2, 4 and 5 while the mid-season break will be from April 30 to May 5. There will be a long break from June 14 to July 15 because of the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will hold in Russia. After the World Cup, the league will resume on July 18 with matchday 25 which will be the first of another three mid-week matches in the second stanza.
