The party’s presidential candidate will be elected at its September 8 national convention. The Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) has released its schedule of activities for the 2019 general elections on Friday, August 17, 2018.In the party’s schedule, the sale of expression of interest forms for applicants across all levels has commenced on August 16 and will end on August 23.Presidential aspirants are expected to pay the sum of N150,000, while gubernatorial aspirants as well as aspirants for the Senate and the House of Representatives will pay N100,000 each, and aspirants for state Houses of Assembly will pay N50,000.For the party’s nomination forms, aspirants are expected to pay the sum of N1.5 million (President), N1 million (Governor), N750,000 (Senator), N400,000 (House of Representatives), N200,000 (House of Assembly), N100,000 (Local Government Chairman), and N50,000 (Councillor).According to the ANRP’s schedule, the party’s National Executive Committee will constitute its electoral college and appeal panels on August 23, and the college will start the screening of aspirants (except for the presidency) immediately until August 31.With debates among aspirants set to take place between August 25 and September 3, legislative primaries will be conducted on September 5 and governorship primaries will take place on September 12.Screening of the party’s two presidential aspirants, Tope Fasua, a businessman and economist, and Enyinnaya Nwosu, a lawyer, will take place on September 5 before a presidential debate on September 8.Whoever’s elected as the party’s flag bearer at its national convention, scheduled for September 18, will contest in the 2019 presidential election.The ANRP was registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in December 2017, and is focused on bringing back the abundance for which Nigeria is known – in terms of human and material resources, and ensuring that that abundance is shared by all.
