Adeniyi Balogun, President JCI NigeriaOver 700 residents of Okunola community in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos have received free medical screening, consultation and drugs.
They were screened for diabetes, hypertension, blood sugar, malaria and typhoid at a free medical outreach tagged: ‘Project Smile’, which was organised by Junior Chambers International (JCI) Lagos City.
According to the president, Toyin Olaogun, the yearly initiative is part of the group’s corporate social responsibility geared towards helping the less privileged in the communities access medical care and treatment, thereby reducing the burden of illnesses in the country.
He said since the project began in 2012, the group has donated medical equipment and renovated primary health centres across the state to ensure patients receive quality care in conducive environment through ‘Project Smile’.
