The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has explained why he will not reject any member of the newly formed opposition coalition, including those who have served in past failed governments.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Obi said that the experience of those who have served in the past failed government is even more needed because they know what was wrong.

“In fact even some who have been in that government, their experience is critical,” Obi said when asked about a seeming contradiction of working with people who have failed the country in the past, even when he said he wants to reform the country.
“I can tell you one of the major companies in the world hired two people who have worked in failed companies because they can tell you why they failed.
“You need the experience of those who have failed and those who have succeeded to move on, and I need everyone. It is a critical experience because they know what can fail a system and they know what was wrong with the system.”
Asked whether he has accepted to be a running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 election in the new coalition arrangement, Obi said nothing of such has been discussed so far.
The former Anambra State governor also confirmed that he would be contesting for President in 2027.
