The Peoples Democratic Party contender for the House of Representatives seat in Ikorodu, AbdulAzeez Awesu, has mobilised youths and adults in the division to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 general elections.

Awesu, who is challenging the withdrawal of his mandate at the Supreme Court, during a rally he convened in Ikorodu on Wednesday, urged members of the division to vote for Atiku.

Speaking during the event, Awesu said the rally was to let people know that the PDP was actively on ground in the division, adding that the party’s presidential flag bearer was a unifier that would deliver on his promises to the people.

He said, “People really need to know that PDP is still on ground. That is just the basic essence of the rally and to know that Atiku Abubakar is going to be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Atiku Abubakar is the unifier. The major reason why we are doing this is to bring Atiku Abubakar to each and every one’s doorstep, knowing that it is him that can do it on the platform of the PDP.

“I’m really happy with the turnout. It showed that a lot of people have actually been waiting for this to happen. We have lots of strategies in place and for sure, I tell you that in Ikorodu, PDP is taking the Ikorodu Assembly, House of Representatives, the Senate, and the governorship seats.

“You can see how people came out massively despite the weather. Trust me, we are going to have three to five more rallies, and the essence will be to bring PDP to the people’s doorsteps. I am sure that the third rally is going to include our Excellency, Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor, who is our governorship candidate; senatorial candidate, in person of Akobada; House of Assembly candidate constituency 1, Hon. Olamide Lawal, and our House of Assembly candidate for constituency 2, in person of Hon. Oyebo.”
