Wild jubilation on Thursday erupted in the camp of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the Appeal Court members set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja which ruled in favour of Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf, by not only nullifying the party’s primary that declared Bwacha as the winner of the party’s governorship primary, but also ordered for fresh primary.
Though it is not yet clear whether Yusuf will be challenging today’s judgement which affirmed Bwacha as the authentic guber candidate of APC for the state, some members of the party’s member who bared their minds on the judgement believed that the Supreme Court will as well ruled in favour of the candidate.
Elated by the judgement, the leadership of the party said “today’s judgement has further confirmed that we have a governorship candidate for our political party in Taraba state.”
Speaking through the party’s spokesperson, Aaron Artimas, the leadership of the party, said the governorship primary results from all the 168 wards of the state was corroborated by both the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and all the security operatives that monitored the primary.
Stressing that “today being Thursday the court of appeals in Abuja has also equally dismissed the judgement of the Federal Court in Abuja” security agencies and the organ assigned with the responsibility of conducting election, he said have “all agreed that primaries were effectively conducted in Taraba State.”
The party, according to him “heartily welcomed this development” adding that “we congratulate the people of the state for the victory because it lay to rest the rumour of conducting fresh primaries.”
The Artimas who went ahead to said that the Appeal court agreed that since the results were assented to by security operatives and other agencies, there was APC governorship primary in Taraba, beckoned at the party faithful to disregard the rumour making the rounds that there will be fresh primary in the state.
He called on all the party members to endeavour to close ranks and sheath their swords so that the party can emerge victorious in the forthcoming election slated for next year.
Corroborating the party’s leadership, other members of the camp who bared their minds to DAILY POST, urged the aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to join forces with the party’s candidate to catapult the party to victory.
