Police go after killers of Queen’s College guard

SUSPECTED armed robbers on Saturday invaded the Queens College in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, killing a security guard during a raid on the premises.

The sad incident took place in the early hours on Saturday at the college’s premises in Apata, Ido Local Government Area of the state.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspected robbers, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the premises at about 1am.

Eyewitnesses said the security guards tried to resist the armed robbers but could not march the fireworks of the bandits as one of them was felled by the bullets.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the killings, saying investigation was still ongoing to arrested the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to book.

The PPRO said, “Investigation is ongoing. Updates would be provided accordingly, please.”
