Reps Ask Libyan Govt To Issue Travel Documents To Stranded Nigerians

The House of Representatives has urged the Nigerian Mission in Libya to issue travel documents to stranded Nigerians in their country to enable them return home.
According to members of the green chamber, this will help to avoid the unnecessary killing of Nigerians in Libya.
The decision was reached following a motion raised in plenary by Representative Chukwuma Imeoji.
He drew the attention of the House to the high number of Nigerians being killed in detention centres across Libya.
Beyond that, he also raised concerns over the ongoing battle for the control of Libya’s capital, Tripoli and how it could lead to further loss of Nigerian lives.
