Cross River State governor Professor Ben AyadeOjor community in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State has been isolated from the rest of the state since its only access road have been several months ago owing to communal dispute with its neighbours.
Also, its only school is dilapidated as children sit on the bare floor under broken roof to study at Government Secondary School, Ojor town.
Worried by this situation, community leaders have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) appeal to Governor Ben Ayade, urging him to come to their rescue as their neigbouring Uyanga people have been blocking at will the only access route through which they go in and out of their community.
Speaking with newsmen in his palace in Ojor, the Obol Loche V, Obol Paulinus Ogar, said the action by the Uyanga people was instigating another round of communal conflict after a recent attack led to the killing of his son-in-law, Inspector James Michael.
In search of an alternative to avoid passing through Uyanga, through communal efforts, the Ojor community had embarked on the construction of an eight-kilometre road.
The monarch added: “This ugly situation has pushed us into the construction to avoid passing through Uyanga as a means of ensuring a lasting peace.
The road which is passing through Eng-Haut rubber plantation to Calabar River junction has already consumed over N10 million.
