Tidal will give users in Uganda the opportunity to subscribe for one, three, seven, and 30-days. Music streaming service, Tidal has extended its services into Uganda.According to Billboard, the music streaming service commenced business in Uganda on August 22, 2018.The report also states that the Ugandan launch was done in partnership with telecoms company MTN.Free trialTidal will also be offering MTN’s over 150 million subscribers in Uganda a 30-day free trial when they sign up on its platform.Billboard also reports that the music streaming service will give users the opportunity to subscribe for one, three, seven, and 30-days.Musical inspirationSpeaking on the latest development, Tidal’s COO, Lior Tibon said Africa has been an inspiration for music all over the world.“Africa is a continent that has long been an inspiration for music heard around the world and Tidal is excited to highlight the vibrant musicians on our platform.”Tidal is also thrilled to bring a new wave of digital music to Uganda as part of this collaboration,” Tibon added.Wonderful day in AfricaAlso, Damian Marley described the launch as a wonderful development for Africa.He said “I remember hearing stories about my father‘s records being destroyed once they got to Africa.”They didn’t want the people to hear the message in the music. The following day, Tidal and MTN will also host a concert featuring Kranium, DJ Spinall, Beenie Gunter and local DJs in Kampala.”Uganda will be the second country in Africa that Tidal is launching, after South Africa.
