The former Chairman of Peoples Democratic party in Kwara State, Iyiola Oyedepo, has described members of the PDP Executive Committee who welcomed the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to the party as ‘inconsequential opportunists’.
Oyedepo stated this on Friday in Ilorin, after tendering his resignation letter at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja.
He said that he decided to leave the PDP because of those he described as ‘pollutants’ noting that he can’t work with them.
“These people have polluted our system, they have been in government for about 16 years and there are no dividends of democracy in Kwara State.
“When you talk about education, health, infrastructure and development it is not there, now, change has come to Kwara State”, he added.
He accused the leadership of the state of using the state’s resources for personal use rather than developing the state.
Mr Oyedepo disclosed that he has moved to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) with the majority of his followers because he has no problem with the Buhari-led administration.
“I have no problem with the present administration, you can never hear me criticise the president or his administration”, he said.
He called on residents in the state to vote for the ruling party come 2019 general elections.
