Simi: Singer becomes first artist to hit 1M streams on Boomplay with ”Simisola” album

Simi has set a new record on music streaming platform Boomplay, as her album Simisola crosses the 1M streams mark. Simi has become the first artist to hit the 1M streams mark on online music platform, Boomplay.Her sophomore album, ”Simisola”, which was released in September 2017, led to her picking up a number of awards including the award for the Album of the Year at the 2018 Headies. The 16 track album was both a critical and commercial success upon its release, birthing a number of hit singles that includes ‘Joromi’, ‘Aimasiko’, ‘O Wa N’be’ and ‘Smile For Me’, which have become mainstream records.This was made known according to the platform on its social media page, with the singer also taking to the Instagram stage to appreciate her fans. A visit to the streaming platform also confirms the figures with Simisola album hitting the 1M mark over Flavour’s, ”Ijele The Traveler” with 935,000 streams and Tope Alabi with 769,000 her ”Yes and Amen” album to achieve this record. Simi features 2face Idibia on the deluxe version of ”Simisola”Simi has put out the extended version to her commercially successful second studio album, Simisola.The deluxe version features 2face Idibia and brings to fulfilment a wish she had five years ago, when she tweeted, ”One day, very soon, I’ll work with you. Promise”.The extended album contains 14 original tracks and two remixes with 2face Idibia featuring on the remix of the song, ‘Original Baby’.
