Salah Scores Four, Sets Record As Liverpool Maul Watford

It was the Mohamed Salah show as the Egyptian star scored four goals in Liverpool’s 5-0 win against Watford in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday.
It was a vital win for Liverpool as they temporarily move up to third on 63 points in the league table, just two points off second-placed Manchester United who have a game in hand and are involved in the FA Cup also on Saturday night.
Liverpool’s other goal was scored by Roberto Firmino early in the second half.
Salah’s goals against Watford now make him the outright top goalscorer in Europe’s top five leagues this season with 28 EPL goals.
The former Roma star, who now has 36 goals in all competitions, has now scored more goals than any other Liverpool player in their debut season at the club. Fernando Torres previously held the record of 33 goals in 2007-2008.
Salah is also the first Liverpool player to score an EPL hat-trick under Jurgen Klopp.
The last Liverpool player to score an EPL hat-trick was Luis Suarez in 2013-14.
Liverpool got off to a flying start as they opened scoring in the fourth minute through Salah who skipped past Miguel Britos and fired a low shot into the far bottom corner.
In the 27th minute, Liverpool were forced into an early change as Emre Can went off injured and was replaced by James Milner.
With two minutes left in the first half, Salah was on target again as he tucked home Andrew Robertson’s cross after he was left unmarked to make it 2-0.
Liverpool continued from where they left off in the first half as Firmino also got on the score sheet in the 49th minute as he flicked in Salah’s cross.
Roberto Pereyra went close for Watford on 52 minutes but saw his curler clipp the top of the bar.
In the 77th minute, Salah completed his hat-trick as he collected the ball inside the box and rolled it past Watford keeper Orestis Karnezis.
Salah was not done yet as he grabbed his fourth goal of the game on 85 minutes as he fired into the roof of the net to make it 5-0 after Danny Ings’ initial effort was saved.
