Osimhen Urges Resilient Wolfsburg Team Spirit After Coach’s Resignation

Exclusive By David Meshioye: Wolfsburg striker, Victor Osimhen, has urged his teammates not to cry over split milk after  Martin Schmidt resigned as coach of the Bundesliga club on Monday, Completesportsnigeria.com‎ (CSN) reports.‎
In a chat with CSN, the former Golden Eaglets striker lamented Schmidt’s’ exit from Wolfburg following a poor run in the German Bundesliga this season which has seen them lose their last three games in a row, but remained optimistic  that the players will leave no stones unturned to return to winning ways.
Osimhen admitted that Schmidt will be hugely missed, but urged players unity and hard work to  ensure Wolfburg bounce back from rock bottom, and most importantly, turn things around in the German Bundesliga.‎
“It is quite painful that Schmidt left us, but we just have to respect his decision,” Osimhen told CSN.
“This is not the time to cry over splits milk, rather, we just have to get on with life after Schmidts’ departure and hope that things get better with the club. We will continue to work hard to ensure we finish on high this season,” he reiterated.
Osimhen’s agent, Ariyo Igbayilola, told  Completesportsnigeria.com that Schmidt opted to go, to pave way for the club to improve their current sporting situation by installing a new coach to bring in fresh impetus to the side, and more importantly, relieve the increasing  pressure on the club and himself.
“Schmidt’s departure may not be unconnected with his desire to reduce public pressure on himself and the club.
