Super Falcons Arrive In Abidjan For WAFU Cup Of Nations

By James Agberebi: Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, on Monday arrived in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, for the 2018 West Africa Football Union Cup of Nations.
The maiden edition of the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations begins on 14 February and ends on 24 February.
The NFF confirmed the team’s arrival on their official website on Monday.
New coach, Swede Thomas Dennerby, led a Super Falcons squad made up of 21 players to Cote d’Ivoire for the tournament.
Also part of the travelling contingent were assistant coaches Wemimo Mathew and Maureen Madu, the team doctor and the physiotherapist. Assistant coach Omobolanle Taiwo and Team Administrator Modupe Shabi will join the team on Wednesday.
Among the Falcons players who arrived in Abidjan include Osarenoma Igbinovia, Joy Jegede, Rasheedat Ajibade, Chioma Wogu, Amarachi Okoronkwo, Glory Ogbonna, Kemi Famuditi and Anam Imo.
The Falcons will open their campaign at the WAFU Cup of Nations on Thursday against Benin Republic. They will take on Senegal on Saturday and Togo next Monday, in their final group game.
