By Johnny Edward: The Nigeria Football Federation have named Salisu Yusuf, Paul Aigbogun and Manu Garba as the head coaches of the national U-23, U-20 and U-17 teams, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
According to the NFF’s official website, Yusuf who guided the Super Eagles B team to the final of the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco will retain his position of the head coach and will also be the coach of the U-23s Olympic team.
The former Kano Pillars coach will be assisted by El Kanemi Warriors coach, Imama Amapakabo, Plateau United boss Kennedy Boboye and MFM head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu. Alloy Agu will be the team’s goalkeeper trainer.
Enyimba coach Paul Aigbogun was named as the head coach of the national U-20 team thebFlyung Eagles and he will be assisted by Akwa United coach Abdullahi Maikaba and Abubakar Bala. Hassan Abdallah will serve as a scout to the team while Suleiman Shuaibu will be the team’s goalkeeper trainer.
Manu Garba retains his job as the head coach of the Golden Eaglets. Garba will be assisted by Nduka Ugbade, Jolomi Atune Ali and Abideen Baruwa. Bunmi Haruna will serve as the scout of the team.
For the U-15 boys, Alala Danladi Nasidi was named as the head coach and the trio of Haruna Usman ‘Ilerika’, Ahmed Dankoli and Ernest Salolome will be his assistants.
Patrick Bassey will be the scout attached to the team.
Jolomi Ali was named the head coach of the U-13s and his assistants are Jude Agada, Abdullahi Tyabo and Adeoye Onigbinde and Adewale Laloko.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed ‘Fresh’ told thenff.com that the appointments are with immediate effect and that his committee has done due diligence on all the names and approved the constitution.
“All the coaches will be unveiled at a later date, alongside the coaching crews of the U-20 and U-17 girls that were appointed earlier as a result of their World Cup qualifying campaigns,” Fresh said.
