Herdsmen. PHOTO: GOOGLE.COM/SEARCH?The North Central Progressive Forum (NCPF), yesterday, condemned in strong terms the mayhem unleashed on the people of the North Central geo-political zone by herdsmen.
In a statement by Mr. Ibrahim Pam, the group noted that the ugly trend would not augur well for the socio-economic development of the country.
The group urged the Federal Government to create a deliberate mechanism to dilute the negative narratives surrounding the conflicts, which is diverting attention from the issues to non-issues.
It stated: “Our forum is concerned that the zone which is the food basket of the nation is fast becoming a battleground, which does not augur well for our dear nation.
“We are one and the same people. We need each other. It is unfortunate that we have found ourselves in this situation. The warring parties should burry their hatchets and embrace peace in the interest of the country.”
The group commended security forces for making efforts to fish out those behind the heinous crime.
