U-17 WWC Qualifiers: Cameroon Hold Flamingoes In Benin

By Johnny Edward: Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team the Flamingoes were held to a 2-2 draw by their Cameroonian counterparts in the first leg of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.
Vincent Precious put Nigeria ahead in the second minute of the encounter, tapping in Osaretin Oghenebrume’s pass from the right flank. Ngah Marie levelled scores for Cameroon seven minutes later with a brilliant header.
With two minutes left to play in the first half, Kameni Alice gave the visitors the lead.
Oghenebrume restored parity for the Flamingoes scoring a sublime free-kick from the edge of the penalty area in the second half.
The second leg will hold in a fortnight in Yaounde.
The Flamingoes had eliminated their Ethiopian counterparts 1-1 on the away goals rule in the previous round.
The sixth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will hold from 13 November to 1 December 2018.
