Oliseh’s Fortuna Sittard Suffer Second Straight Defeat, Drop To Third Place

By Johnny Edward: Former Nigerian coach Sunday Oliseh watched from the sidelines as his club Fortuna Sittard suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Dutch second division on Friday, losing 2-1 at home to FC Emmen.
Anco Jansen and Alexander Bannink scored in the fourth and the 25th minutes of the encounter to hand FC Emmen a 2-0 lead into the interval before Finn Stokkers pulled one back in the 71st minute for Fortuna Sittard.
The loss was Fortuna Sittard’s sixth of the season having succumbed last weekend to Dordrecht who ended their seven-game winning streak.
The defeat saw the Oliseh’s side drop to third from first place in the Dutch second-tier with 44 points from 22 games, two points adrift of league leaders NEC Nijmegen and one behind Jong Ajax.
Fortuna Sittard will travel to Nortth Holland in Volendam to face FC Volendam in their next game on 2 February.
