Nigerians abroad: Moses, Iwobi score, Abdullahi signs off in Cyprus

A round-up of how Nigerian players abroad, performed. As usual, it was a busy weekend for Nigerian players as a host of them were in action for their clubs abroad. This is a round-up of how they performed.EnglandWhere else to start that England where Victor Moses rounded up Chelsea’s 4-0 win at Brighton on Saturday, January 20. Moses scored the fourth goal in the 4-0 win, his first Premier League goal this season. Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi played 90 minutes as Leicester City beat Watford 2-0 at the Vicarage Road. That was his 23rd league appearance for Leicester City this season. His compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute in the game. Isaac Success was not listed for the match day squad for Watford. In the English Championship, Sone Aluko played for 60 minutes in Reading’s 1-0 home loss to Brentford. That was his 23rd appearance in the league this season. Super Eagles right-back Ola Aina was in action for Hull City in their 1-0 loss away at Sunderland. CyprusNigerian midfielder and defender Shehu Abdullahi signed off from his scored Cyprian club Anorthosis Famagusta by scoring in their 3-1 win over Ethnikos Achnas 3-1.​ It was to be his last game for the club as he is set to join Bursaspor SpainKayode Olanrewaju was an unused substitute in Girona’s 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid in a La Liga on Saturday. Ramon Azeez was in action for Lugo as they beat Sporting Gijon 3-1 in a La Liga 2 clash. GermanyNigerian striker Anthony Ujah was an unused substitute for FSV Mainz in their 3-2 home defeat to Stuttgart. His compatriot Leon Balogun was not listed in the matchday squad.Former Golden Eaglets star Victor Osimhen was an 85th-minute substitute in Wolfsburg  3-1 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt. That was the youngster’s sixth appearance this season for Wolfsburg. Turkey Okechukwu Azubuike played 90 minutes in Yeni Malatyaspor’s 0-0 draw away at Osmanlispor FK. He played against his compatriots Raheem Lawal and Aminu Umar. Lawal lasted only 32 minutes in the game while Umar featured for 90 minutes. Super Eagles stars William Troost-Ekong and Mikel Agu played 90 minutes in Bursaspor 3-0 home loss top Istanbul Basaksehir.EgyptNigerian striker Junior Ajayi was on target for Al Ahly in their 2-1 win over Misr Lel Makasa on Sunday. That was his fourth goal of the season. Netherlands Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche played 90 minutes as Willem II were held to a goalless draw by FC Groningen.
