Rwanda’s pre-African Nations Championship (CHAN) friendly game against Sudan at the Stade Mongi Ben Brahim, Tunis on Saturday was  abandoned after fights broke out among the players, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The game which started 30 minutes behind schedule was called off by the Tunisian centre referee five minutes before the break.
“40’ Rwanda 0-0 Sudan. Game called off as Sudanese player Nasser Omar fouls Djihad Bizimana, then headbutts Yannick Mukunzi. Tunisian referee calls for a free kick, Sudanese players led by goalie Akram El Madi unhappy with the decision decide to go physical with Rwanda players,” reads a tweet on the Twitter handle of the Rwanda Football Federation
The Amavubi will take on Namibia in another friendly in Jamal on Sunday.
Antoine Hey’s  men will wrap their preparations for CHAN 2018 with another friendly fixture against Algeria next Wednesday before heading to Morocco for the competition.
The 2016 hosts will face Nigeria in their first group on January 15 in Tangier with games against Equatorial Guinea and Libya to follow.
CHAN 2018 will start in Morocco on January 13 and end on February 4.
