Lagos State Police Command yesterday said it had arrested a woman (name withheld), who allegedly emptied a kettle of hot water on her housemaid, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The Command’s spokesman, SP Chike Oti, told newsmen in Lagos that the woman was arrested along with her husband, who allegedly made several attempts to rape the housemaid.
Oti said that their arrest was sequel to a call for the rescue of the 19-year-old Blessing Joseph by a good Nigerian, who pleaded anonymity.
“According to Miss Blessing Joseph, she has suffered terribly in the hands of the aforementioned couple, who delighted in de-humanising her regularly.
“She further revealed to the police that her `Madam’ beats her up at the slightest provocation while her husband, sneaks to her whenever his wife is away and had made several painful attempts to penetrate her anus.
