File photo Police operatives from the Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday intervened in the ongoing protest by students of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta.
The operatives from the command took over the Pansheke area of Abeokuta, one of the places where the students meet to protest against the delay in holding their examinations since September.
Students from the institution had commenced what they said would be a week-long protest on Monday.
Dressed in black attires, the students holding different placards matched through major streets of Abeokuta, demanding that the state government should be reopened for normal academic activities.
The protest which continued on Tuesday, however, disrupted activities including the movement of vehicles and commuters.
To stop the protest and allow commercial activities, armed riot policemen have been deployed in areas where the students protest including Pansheke, a major market in Abeokuta.
