Tesla just added another major client to its Semi pre-order list, as UPS has reserved 125 of Tesla’s electric trucks, according to Reuters. The delivery company’s order is the largest known order yet.
The order will add to UPS’ growing fleet of trucks that run on alternative fuels like electricity, natural gas, and propane. UPS believes its initial order of Tesla Semis will allow it to determine whether the trucks are effective, the company told Reuters.
While some had doubts about Tesla’s ability to break into the trucking industry before it introduced the Semi, early orders indicate Tesla may beat expectations.
