    Innoson Motors: Police officers invade Enugu factory, injure workers

    The officers fired live bullets inside the premises, which resulted in tens of factory workers getting injured. Armed police officers invaded the Enugu premises of Innoson Motors on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, injuring workers in the process.According to the company’s official Twitter account (@innosonmotors), the officers fired live bullets inside the premises, which resulted in tens of factory workers getting injured.The tweet read, “Armed Police men firing live bullets and gunshots inside Innoson residence. Tens of factory workers critically wounded.”  The attack comes on the heels of hundreds of workers from the factory protesting against the arrest of the company’s founder and chairman, Innocent Chukwuma, by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) earlier on Tuesday.Innoson spokesperson, Cornel Osigwe, said Chukwuma was arrested for reportedly jumping bail in connection to a case he has with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).
