By James Agberebi: Manchester City continued their impressive run in the Premier League as they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
A brace from Raheem Sterling and a goal each from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne saw City stretch their straight league wins to 16, extending the record they set in midweek.
Christian Eriksen scored Spurs’ goal deep into stoppage time.
The win took City’s point to 52, 14 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United who will be guests to West Brom on Sunday.
City had the game’s first real chance in the eighth minute as Leroy Sane burst clear but his intended pass to Sergio Aguero was cleared by Spurs defence.
But Pep Guardiola’s side did not have to wait too long as they got the first goal on 13 minutes through Gundogan who stooped low to head in Sane’s cross for his first goal of the season.
In the 23rd minute, Aguero’s well struck shot was stopped by Hugo Lloris but Raheem Sterling fired the rebound over the bar.
