By Adeboye Amosu in Kano: Home-based Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf believes his team will get better after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Plateau United in their first game at the Nigeria Professional Football League invitational tournament here in Kano, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
The Super Eagles only started training for the competition on Monday and only had two sessions before the Plateau United game.
They however dominated proceedings in the game but were unable to record a goal in the encounter.
Yusus is however optimistic the team will improve with more matches.
“The players gave their best despite us having just two training sessions before the game. In these circumstances, I cannot fault their effort,” Salisu said after the game.
“It’s our first game after the WAFU Cup final against Ghana. Now we have another day to train before our next game which is good for us.
“I have confidence we will improve in the next game and hopefully win it too.
