Abubakar, who allegedly led four others to kidnap Margaret Emefiele died due to the injuries he sustained during a gun duel with policemen in his bid to evade arrest. Umar Abubakar, alleged kidnapper of CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele’s wife has reportedly died in police custody before court appearance.According to a report by Punch, Abubakar, who, in September 2016, allegedly led four others to kidnap Margaret Emefiele died due to the injuries he sustained during a gun duel with policemen in his bid to evade arrest.It was also reported that the deceased alongside Mohammed Yusuf, Edwin George, Musa Maidabara, and Ernest Uduefe, was to be arraigned before Justice Babatunde Quadri of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.However, the arraignment of the suspects could not proceed after the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Aminu Alilu, announced Abubakar’s death to the judge during the proceedings.
