Ijaw youths have thrown their weight behind the current board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) saying they were not part of the tenure elongation controversy rocking the board.
The youths said they will remain comfortable with and supportive of the NDDC managed by Mr. Nsima Ekere as long as the commission gives them their entitlements and ensure Bayelsa State gets all that is due it from NDDC.
The youths under the auspices of the Central Zone of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, insisted that their only interest was a board that would engage their people in a meaningful projects and programmes.
Speaking in Yenagoa, at the weekend, the Central Zone Chairman, IYC, Mr. Tare Porri, however, asked Ekere and the Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba-led board to design priority projects that would develop the region especially Bayelsa.
Porri further asked the board to work closely with the Bayelsa Governor, Mr.
