The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that he is free to return to the party.
The party said this on Friday in reaction to the resignation of the former vice president from the All Progressives Congres (APC).
Atiku, who announced his resignation from the APC after joining the party in February 2014, accused the party of failing to spearhead the rebirth of a new Nigeria as it had promised.
He also claimed that the APC has adopted arbitrariness among similar practices, as well as failed to carry the youths along in governance.
“While other parties have purged themselves of the arbitrariness and unconstitutionality that led to fractionalization. The All Progressives Congress has adopted those same practices and even gone beyond them to institute a regime of a draconian clampdown on all forms of democracy within the party and the government it produced,” he said.
