Ekiti Speaker, Adelugba commiserates with Sanwo-Olu over Lagos train accident

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Olubunmi Adelugba has commiserated with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the accident involving a BRT bus and a train in the state on Thursday.

The Speaker in a statement on Friday by her Special Adviser (Media), Odunayo Ogunmola, described the accident as “very sad and unfortunate.”

She commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his prompt response to the incident and for taking the decision to declare three days of mourning and suspending campaign activities during the mourning period.

Adelugba also sympathized with the families of those who lost their lives in the accident praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.

The Speaker also prayed God to grant the deceased eternal repose while wishing those injured in the accident now receiving medical attention a quick recovery.

She said the thoughts and prayers of the lawmakers, management and staff of the Ekiti State House of Assembly are with the victims and their families through the difficult time.

Adelugba also called on drivers to be more cautious and obey traffic rules in the performance of their duties noting that life has no duplicate.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We pray God grants them the grace to pull through this difficult period.

“Drivers should always be more cautious, and circumspect and exercise their discretion well while behind the wheel. They should always obey traffic rules while driving to ensure the safety of lives in transit,” she said.
