Tinubu’s victory Nigerians’ wish, say Ekiti monarchs

Traditional rulers and political leaders in Ekiti State, on Thursday, described the outcome of Saturday’s presidential election as the wish of the majority of Nigerians.

The rulers, under the aegis of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers lauded Tinubu, on his decisive victory at the just concluded presidential election.

They expressed satisfaction that “the election has been described as free and fair and a true representation of the wishes of the majority of Nigerians across the geopolitical zones.”

The Council’s Chairman and the Onisan of Isan Ekiti, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon, commended Nigerians for their peaceful disposition during and after the election.

Adejuwon also gave kudos to the Independent National Electoral Commission for doing a good job.

He, however, advised the electoral body to take critical review of its systems with a view to correcting some glitches.

Adejuwon, who also congratulated the National Assembly members-elect from Ekiti state on their victory at the poll, appealed to them “to give the best representation to Ekiti people and work in cooperation with Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the state’s socio-economic development”.

Also, the All Progress Congress chieftain and former Director General, Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Council in Ekiti State, Dr Olusegun Osinkolu, said that Nigeria was “on the path of greatness, peace and prosperity” with Tinubu winning the presidential election.

Osinkolu, in a statement titled, “Tinubu’s Presidency: Nigeria now on path of greatness, prosperity – Osinkolu”, said the President-elect possessed the required charisma, administrative acumen and widespread political networks to navigate and deliver as promised.”

The APC chieftain said, “This is one victory that we believe will rescue Nigeria out of the economic doldrums and socio- political woes. Asiwaju canvassed for votes with the mantra of ‘Renewed Hope’, which will touch the economy, infrastructure, education, security, health, agriculture and other pivotal economic nerve centres”.

Also, the Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council in the state, Prince Akin Olayisade said Nigerians should expect prosperity under Tinubu’s presidency.

“This is the first time Nigeria will be having a business-minded person as President.

“It is a sweet victory. Votes counted and the election was transparent, free and fair. Of course, Nigeria is the winner. It is a victory for democracy and INEC is the hero for giving us transparent elections.”

The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr Habibat Adubiaro also described Tinubu’s electoral victory as unprecedented.

He said, “The election went well and it was very peaceful. The victory APC earned in the election was unprecedented because nobody was influenced or induced”.

He added, “Tinubu visited all the 36 states, the FCT and some power blocs of the six geo-political zones of the country. During that time, he identified areas requiring help in financing the economy of the country and areas that can be delved into to be self-sustaining to put an end to importation of goods and services.
