The House of Representatives Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has accused the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of allegedly fomenting violence, before and during elections in Kano State.

Ado while addressing newsmen in Kano on Tuesday, in response to allegations of a violent outing during the election in the Tudunwada/Doguwa Federal Constituency, said all accusations levelled against him were baseless and unfounded.

While accusing Kwankwaso of being the troublemaker, he claimed the state was peaceful until the NNPP candidate allegedly arrived in the state with thugs of supporters.

“Kwankwaso should be held responsible for the violence before and during the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Elections in Kano because the State was peaceful until the NNPP presidential candidate, decided to storm Kano with his hundreds of thugs who went on a rampage killing and burning people’s and properties”.

“Even my House was razed down at Kwankwasiyya town by the Kwankwaso supporters the day he came to Kano for his rally, and also everyone is aware of so many cars that were burnt down”, he alleged.

“Everyone is aware that NNPP supporters were the ones who went to Doguwa and destroyed so many properties worth over one billion Naira, and that he personally reported to Police Command and AIG Zone office but nothing was allegedly done.

“If Governor Ganduje cannot call Kwankwaso to order for his violence and violent outbursts, including his remarks that, “If I order my boys to go and arrest Ganduje they will do, we at the National Assembly we will call him to order”.

Doguwa also refuted claims that he was invited by the Police, saying, “I have not received any invitation from the Police but if there is any I’m ready to go and clear my name”.

He said the burning down of the NNPP office in Doguwa was done by the same Kwankwaso supporters who went and hired office 50 meters away from the INEC office in the area, ready to strike after stockpiling dangerous weapons but unfortunately the weapons they kept exploded on them.

Similarly, Doguwa assured that despite some losses suffered during the election, he will still deliver Kano gubernatorial seat for the APC.
