Stephen Odey has continued his goalscoring form after his heroics in the Europa League. Nigerian striker Stephen Odey was again on on target for FC Zurich as they lost 3-2 away from home against St. Gallen 1879 in a league game played on Sunday, October 28.Odey scored the match winner for Zurich as they beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 at home in their midweek Europa League clash.Stephen OdeyThe Nigerian striker has since continued from his sensational form in front of goal but could not save his side from defeat.St. Gallen 1879 3 Zurich 2Odey was named in the starting line up despite his exertion during midweek against Bayer Leverkusen.The Nigerian forward and his teammates had chances to go ahead as both sides struggled to control the game in its early stages.Odey however could not prevent his side from conceding their first goal in the 41st minute through Vincent Sierro who converted a ball through to him by Ghanaian international Majeed Ashimeru.The home side took the lead to the halftime break and upon resumption Ashimeru this time doubled their lead in the 52nd minute after he latched on to a ball by Dereck Kutesa.Benjamin Kololli pulled one back for Zurich when after he was put through on goal by Odey in the 69th minute.Tranquillo Barnetta scored the third goal for the home side in the 86th minute Ashimeru again with the assist.Odey pulled one back in the 90th minute but it was too late as they lost the game 3-2 after additional time.The young Nigerian striker will hope to continue his good goalscoring form when his Zurich side faces Blessing Eleke’s Luzern on Sunday, November 4.
